Task 3
Within the classroom I taught there was a variety of learning that could be seen based on performance. A lot of the students seemed to be very hands on visual learners, as they did well in the projects and group work times. I was able to work with these students with the game and show them the answers to the questions they had. I also had some auditory learners. This occurred to me when I was describing things a few times during the lesson because a few students were very engaged in the lesson and constantly asking questions and answering my own.
The assessment was taken from a genetics game found online. The students were responsible for writing things they learned down as well as answers to questions they got while doing the game. They turned this in and it was just graded on completion. This assessment is designed to be used as a study guide for a quiz or portion of a test on the content.
The students that took the assignment seriously learned a lot about the carbon cycle through the game. This is evident from the work they turned in. Most students had most of the work done and would have been able to easily use their worksheets to study for a quiz. Below is an example from a student who worked at the target level and finished the work during the class period.

Analysis and Reflection
This lesson is an introductory lesson for the content and is therefore designed to give students a start. Understanding from doing the game was good since most students were able to answer the questions on the website and the questions I posed as I walked around the room. The next step would be to create a short quiz for the students to take during another class period to help see what they learned.
Some misunderstandings occurred when students did not quite understand the objectives of the assignment. The next step for these students who did not meet the learning objective would be to have them complete the assignment outside of class. I would next time probably show the entire class how to do the game on the projector so they would understand how best to give me what I am looking for in the assignment.
